1477838 Reciprocating pumps and motors INDUSTRY SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 12 Dec 1974 [13 Dec 1973] 57850/73 Heading F I A In an axial piston pump or motor, the cylinder block 1 has an annular groove 13, 14 in its end face within which an annular, multi-lobed cam track 11, 12 at least partially extends for engagement by the pistons 5, 6, 7, 8, to prevent overhang of the pistons in their outermost positions. The pistons each have a ball engaging the cam track. In the arrangement shown, opposed pistons engage respective cam tracks. Cam members 9, 10 are mounted on a rotary pintle having distributing ports for the supply and discharge of working hydraulic fluid.
