Abstract

1475397 Tension apparatus AKADEMIA MEDYCZNA 28 May 1974 23501/74 Heading A5R A device for pre-stretching resilient systems e.g. springs, used in the application of forces to the backbone comprises pivotal arms 1 and toggle members 2, each toggle member having a lever 3 connected thereto, and each pivotally connected to one end of each of the arms 1 the toggle members 2 clasping the resilient system, a spring 4 connected at either end to conical plates 5 and catches 6, between them. The other ends of each of the arms 1 are pivotally connected together by a tie-bar 7 having a stretcher screw 8 including a knob 9, the lower end of screw 8 being located between arms 1 and connected to a movable cross bar 7', the ends of which slidably engage arms I to cause them to pivot about tie-bar 7 to stretch the resilient system.
