Abstract
147,511. National Seal Co., (Assignees of Rivers, B. W.). Dec. 18, 1917, [Convention date]. Stoppers and lids, bayonet-joint and wedgeaction.-A container 1 is provided below its mouth with lugs 3, which are engaged by inturned lugs 7 of a closure comprising a top disk 5, which is normally concave throughout and has its edges projecting radially beyond the mouth of the container and a slightly resilient skirt 6 carrying the lugs 7, the concave surface being stressed radially during the closing operation. A stop 9 on each of the lugs 7 limits the rotary movement of the closure. The leading ends of the lugs 3 are slightly rounded, and the under surface 3<1> is inclined and curved. A packing 8 completes the seal.
