Abstract

1474791 Incubators BEKOTO 11 July 1974 [12 July 1973] 30797/74 Heading AIM An egg incubator of the tunnel type, which is provided with an aerator-conditioner-humidifier system, further comprises two sets of parallel rails on which run two rows of trolleys carrying tiltable egg drawers, and also, at each end of the tunnel, a sliding panel fitted with fans, facing a different row of trolleys to create a horizontally circulating flow of air reversible in sense by changing the positions of the panels. Trolleys 3, which enter at E and leave at S, are advanced by engagement of teeth 20 with pawls 19 carried on a reciprocating rod 18. Egg drawers carried on the trolleys are tilted by the action of tilting parallelograms (not shown) actuated by the lateral shift of rakes 27. The sliding panels 4 may carry deflecting plates 4a. Air outlets 14, 15, provided at the end S of the incubator, have shutters 16, 17 closable by panels 4. The aerator-conditioner-humidifier system 7, provided with a fan 13 and inlets 8, 9 with regulating shutters 10, communicates with the incubator interior via an opening 12 and a number of orifices 11 at the central portion of the incubator. An alternative form of aerator-conditioner-humidifier, Fig. 6 (not shown), comprises two duct sections which enable air to be taken from the centre of the incubator and injected at the extremities.
