1474772 Hinges GKN-STENMAN AB 30 Sept 1974 [5 Oct 1973] 42410/74 Heading E2F In a hinge having two hinge leaves 1, 2, one leaf 2 comprises two parts, a hinge flap part 2 and an attachment plate part 3 which forms a pocket 4 for the reception of the hinge flap part 2, the hinge also including a resilient tongue 5 for releasably retaining the hinge part in the pocket and a catch plate 8 which is located adjacent the attachment plate 3. The catch plate 8 engages the hinge flap part 2 when the hinge part is in the pocket 4 to keep a door 12, to which the attachment plate 3 is connected, fastened to the hinge even in the event of damage to the resilient tongue. The catch plate 8 is arranged to be located by screws 10 which also serve for application of the attachment plate to the door 12. The catch plate 8 has two opposing lugs &a (Fig. 4, not shown) which have rounded sections to co-operate with the screws 10. Upon insertion of the leaf 2 in the pocket 4 the catch plate 8 is pressed aside against a biassing action of the resilient tongue 5.
