1487999 Resilient hinges C E & J P BRITTON Ltd 17 Oct 1974 [27 Nov 1973] 54960/73 Heading E2F In a resilient plastics hinge assembly, first and second hingedly-mounted fittings 1 and 2 are anchored to a door 18 and the side wall of a cupboard 19 respectively and are movable angularly when the hinge connection between an inoperative (closed) position and any one of a series of operative positions against the loading of a resilient means in the form of at least one resilient tongue 10 which is integral with the first fitting 1 and engages with a bearing surface 16 on the second fitting 2 to deflect the tongue transversely and increase the loading as the fittings are moved relatively away from the inoperative position. Each of the fittings 1, 2 are provided with a plurality of spaced, interengaging arms 6, 12 respectively, the extremities of which are joined to an integral pin portion (not shown) extending transversely of the arms, the extremities of the arms of the other fitting are of open-eye form which snap into engagement over the pin portion to provide the hinge connection of the fittings.
