Abstract

1471443 Developing electrostatic images XEROX CORP 25 April 1974 [26 April 1973] 18068/74 Heading G2H A magnetic brush development apparatus, or alternatively a magnetic transport apparatus associated with cascade development, incorporates at least one rotatable sleeve or belt 16, out of a plurality of rotatable members which together comprise the said apparatus, with a plurality of stationery magnets 22, 24, 26, 28 in its core, one of the said magnets being shorter in an axial direction of the rotatable member than another of the magnets of the same core. Preferably the magnets of core, and of the cores of cooperating rotatable members, are so related in length that the developer particles 14 are constrained in a narrowing band as they are carried upwards.
