Abstract

1470386 Razors WILKINSON SWORD Ltd 1 May 1974 [15 May 1973] 23114/73 Heading B4B A shaving unit comprises a support member 12 having at least one razor blade 10 secured thereto and provided with a guard surface 12a for the cutting edge 10a of the blade wherein adjustment means 15 are provided by which the user can adjust the effective shaving angle, i.e. the angle which the bisector of the facet of the cutting edge makes with a line which is tangential to the guard surface and the tip of the cutting edge. The blade 10 together with a second blade 11 separated by a spacer 14, are secured by a cap 13 to a platform defined by a pair of tongues 12c formed integrally with the support member 12. A slider member 15 is mounted on the shaving unit and is formed with a pair of lugs 15a having inclined surfaces 15al. The inclined surfaces are adapted to co-operate with cam surfaces 12d formed on the support member such that, when the slider is moved, the blades together with the cap are pivoted due to the resilience of the tongues 12c thus varying the effective shaving angle. A key (13c), Fig. 8 (not shown), co-operates with one or other of five notches 15c in the slider in order to lock the slider in its selected position indicated by a pointer (15e), Fig. 1 (not shown) and marks (13d).
