Abstract

147,004. Ebers, K. Jan. 9, 1918, [Convention date]. Preserving eggs.-White or yolk of eggs which has been mixed with a preservative such as salt, benzoic acid, boric acid, &c. is treated to separate the preservative by dialysis and is dried by atomizing into a current of dry air which may be heated. Sparingly soluble preservatives such as benzoic or boric acids may be neutralized by addition of alkali such as sodium bicarbonate to yield salts which are readily separated my dialysis.
