Abstract
1468289 Jib cranes R MORRISON 9 Sept 1974 39220/74 Heading B8B A crane includes a winch 13 having at least one winding drum 22, a jib 15, an outrigger 17 mounted on the jib 15 and extending laterally and to opposite sides thereof, first pulley means 16 on the jib 15, second and third pulley means 19, 19 on the free ends of the outrigger 17, the first, second and third pulley means 16, 19, 19 being disposed at the corners of an imaginary triangle, a load hook carried by a pulley block 20, and a single length of load cable 21 of which two reaches 21<SP>1</SP>, 21<SP>1</SP> extend divergently from the pulley block 20 to form part of a single loop of load cable around and directly between the second and third pulley means 19, 19 and of which a third reach 21<SP>1</SP> extends from the pulley block 20 to the first pulley means 16, and therearound and continues to a first point of attachment on the one winding drum 22. As shown a fourth reach 21<SP>1</SP> of the single length of cable 21 extends from the pulley block 20 to the first pulley means 16 and therearound and continues to a second point of attachment at the winch 13, which point may be on the one winding drum 22.
