Abstract

1468024 Floor structure. ROLL-RINK SA 12 Dec 1973 [27 April 1973 7 Dec 1973] 57540/73 Addition to 1468025 Heading E1W [Also in Division A6] A floor e.g. for a roller skating rink comprises elongate supporting joists 8, preferably formed of aluminium, provided with longitudinally extending undercut channels 10 on their upper surface. The joists are placed parallel and side by side and are covered with a surfacing of plastics plates 1 formed with resiliently deformable press studs 6 on their lower surface which studs are lockingly engaged with the channels 10 to overlap at least two deck sections. Alternatively or in addition to the overlapping arrangement pegs 23 and corresponding holes 17 may be provided to more easily align the press studs. The joists may be laid directly on sand or gravel. The panels 1 may be square or polygonal with a greater number of sides and may provide smooth, granular or artificial grass surfacing. The sides of the panes 1 may be of undulating form providing a degree of interlock.
