Abstract

Each units comprises a roughly square base (1, 1') bordered on two sides by angle section flanges (2, 2') and on the other two sides by sides. The angle section flanges are connected to the base by flanges (21). They have vertical flanges (20)n in which are drilled holes by means of which adjacent units are attached to one another with nuts and bolts. The joining of two adjacent units leaves a drain (210) below each join. The units can be of different types, e.g. with only one side wall (3) and a base, or with just the base alone enabling a large number of different shapes of terrace garden to be built up. The soil with which the units are filled helps to keep the whole steady.
