Abstract

1467941 Dispensing articles ETABS MATENIN 16 Jan 1975 [8 Feb 1974] 1997/75 Heading B8S Apparatus for automatically dispensing stacked articles comprises a bottomless receptacle 1 below which is located a slide 3 having an extension 17, a longitudinal slot 18 extending through the slide 3 and extension 17, the slide 3 being movable between a retracted position, Fig. 4, in which the bottom-most article 2a of the stack in the receptacle 1 rests on the extension 17, and an extended position, Fig. 5 (not shown), in which the extension 17 and article 2a located thereon are disposed in a discharge shoot 4 and the slide 3 supports the remainder of the stack in the receptacle 1, a support 19 being located beneath the receptacle 1 for vertical movement through the slot 18 such that during retraction of the slide 3 the support 19 supports the stack in the receptacle 1 and also causes the article 2a to slide off the extension 17 for discharge through the shoot 4 owing to the abutment between the support 19 and article 2a, and when the slide 3 and extension 17 have been fully retracted the support 19 is lowered thereby lowering the article 2b on to the slide extension 17 for subsequent discharge into the shoot 4. The slide 3 and support 19 are moved by means of respective piston-cylinder units 6, 24 which are programmed in accordance with a predetermined cycle.
