Abstract

1465542 11a-Chloro-5-oxytetracycline-6,12- hemiketal PFIZER Inc 4 Feb 1974 [2 Aug 1973] 05124/74 Heading C2C 11a - Chloro - 5 - oxytetracycline - 6,12 - hemiketal is obtained in the form of a strong mineral acid addition salt by chlorinating 5-oxytetracycline or an acid addition salt thereof at - 10‹ to - 40‹ C. and pH 6À5-7À7 in a water-miscible reaction-inert solvent or its mixture with water and then adding a strong mineral acid to lower the pH of the reaction mixture thus obtained to <1À0. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 998,294.
