Abstract

1464925 Bundling stacks by winding WINDMOLLER & HOLSCHER 30 April 1974 [4 May 1973] 18908/74 Heading B8C Apparatus for the packing of stacks of synthetic plastics bags comprises two press arms 22 to grip an end region of a stack and rotatable to roll the stack into a bundle, and means for securing the rolled bundle. The arms are mounted on rods 15 extending from a block 14 secured to a rotatable plate 11. When a conveyer 26 feeds a stack between the arms 22, a piston-rod 32 through a coupling rod 30 moves a plate 27 along inclined surfaces 23 of the arms to move the arms together. As the arms are rotated the end of the conveyer 26 bears against the bundle being rolled. A supporting frame 4 is pivotally mounted to permit movemen of the arms away from the conveyer. During at least the last revolution of the arms a self adhesive wrapper from a roll is pressed against the bundle. The wrapped bundle is then pushed by the plate 27 off the arms. Instead of being wrapped the bundles may be pushed into a cardboard wrapper held at the free end of the arms.
