Abstract

1464597 Tamper proof resilient plug closure DEFENCE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 14 Feb 1975 [14 Feb 1974] 6801/74 Heading B8T A phial 10, e.g. of plastics is fitted with a tamper-proof stopper that comprises a blind hole 17 and an elastically deformable lower portion that engages under the inner end of the phial opening after being press-fitted. The length of the stopper and opening are such that the stopper does not project beyond the upper end of the opening. The stopper may have a circumferential, triangular cross-section notch 15 as shown or a circumferential step. The entire stopper may be resilient, the upper and lower portions thereof may be of the same diameter, its upper end may be flush with the upper end of the opening, it may be of polyethylene or polypropylene and it may taper inwardly with the opening. The stopper can be inverted and used as a temporary seal prior to filling.
