Cutting slices in succession.-In a meat-slicing machine of the type having a vertical revolving disk knife and a reciprocating meat-carrier, the bearing bracket 2 for the knife is bent as shown to give clearance for a plate which may be placed on an adjustable support 14 to receive slices as they are cut. The bracket 2 may be adjusted about its centre 6 to ensure that a worn knife may still cut right through the meat. The knife may be driven by a chain 8 passing over guiderollers 10, 11.
