Abstract
146,321. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Dec. 8, 1915, [Convention date]. Sights.-Relates to sights mounted on the guncradle and having means for adjusting the angle of tangent elevation to compensate for decreased muzzle-velocity due to erosion. According to the invention, a secondary sight-bar, carrying the sight, is angularly adjusted relatively to the sight-bar, which is operated by the ordinary sight-elevating gear, by means of cam mechanism arranged between the two bars. In the construction shown, the two bars B, C are mounted by the same pivot a<3> on a bracket a<2> fixed to the cradle A. The sight-bar B is elevated by the ordinary gear. d<1>. The secondary sight-bar C is connected to the bar B by a link H, at one end, c<2>, pivoted to the bar C, and at the other having a cross-pin g', Fig. 4, engaging a circular camslot f<1> in a block F mounted on the bar B. A rod J connects the link H to the bracket a<2> so that when the sight-bar is elevated the pin g' is caused to travel along the slot f<1>. The radius of curvature of the slot f<1> is equal to the length of the link H, and is normally concentric with the pivot c<2> so that the two bars remain parallel. The block F can be angularly adjusted by means of worm-gearing K, Fig. 4, so that the slot f<1> is not concentric with the pivot c<2>. The secondary sight-bar C will then receive an angular adjustment relatively to the bar B when the latter is elevated by the gear d<1>.
