Detaching from, and attaching to, permanent hubs; disk wheels; double and multiple wheels arranged side by side. - In detachable wheels, the drive is transmitted to the wheel from the permanent hub 14 by means of a plate 13 which is in driving connexion with the hub through teeth 17 and with the wheel through pins 19. The plate 13 has coned surfaces 4, 15 which seat respectively on conical surfaces on the wheel and on the securing nut 16. The wheel comprises a disk 1 and a strengthening plate 3 riveted thereto and conforming therewith in shape, the bearing between the wheel and hub being cylindrical at 6 and conical at 7. In a twinwheel arrangement, the driving-plate is placed between the wheels spacing them apart. The wheels are similar in shape and are seated between conical surfaces at the inner end of the hub and on the securing nut. The driving-pins 19 engage blind holes formed by caps 11 secured to the wheels.
