Abstract

1460972 Luminescent screens INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP 29 May 1974 [12 June 1973] 23727/74 Heading H1D To lacquer the luminescent screen of a cathode-ray-tube under construction before deposition of Al, without incurring non-uniform lacquer thickness near one side wall due to pouring off excess lacquer, the screen 2 is set with its inner face tilted downward at α = 15 degrees and is rotated about the normal while aqueous liquid, e.g. demineralized water 6, at the same temperature as the screen is sprayed on 4 and drained off below 3; subsequently with further rotation lacquer is sprayed (Fig. 2, not shown) through a jet 5 oscillating between the centre and lower edge, draining off below 3; finally the screen is spun at high speed.
