Abstract

PURPOSE: To uniform a thickness of a phosphor film on an inner surface of a panel, by rotating the panel within a particular angle range around a vertical axis to the panel face to shake a slurry off from the inner surface of the panel.
CONSTITUTION: In shaking off the over-applied slurry on the inner surface of the panel by a high speed rotation of the panel, the slurry shaking off angle θ is set in 35W55°. For example, when the angle θ is 45°, the force adding to the phosphor on the center of the panel is mg.cos 45°=0.7mg. Thus, in the case of the angle θ is 55° or less than 55°, the phosphor on the center portion of the panel will start to move toward the peripheral area thereof, so that the thickness of the phosphor film can be uniformed.
