Abstract
1460336 Heat-treated steel CENTRO SPERIMENTALE METALLURGICO SpA 27 March 1974 13580/74 Heading C7A A steel comprising:- the balance, apart from incidental impurities, being Fe is:- (a) austenetized at 950-1150‹C for 3-60 minutes, (b) cooled to within the range 450-600‹C, (c) optionally worked to effect a deformation of 20-90%, (d) quenched (e.g. in oil) and (e) tempered at 0-450‹C for between half an hour and a day. When step (c) is included the maximum temperature in step (e) is 600‹C. Step (b) may be effected in a bath of molten lead or lead alloy. Step (c) may be effected by torsion or extrusion and is preferably followed by quenching with a delay of no more than a minute.
