Abstract
1460170 Sliding doors for baths and showers JUSTIN HUPPE 20 March 1974 [7 Dec 1973] 12481/74 Heading A4N [Also in Division E1] A sliding door arrangement for a bath or shower comprises outer, middle and inner sliding door elements 14, 15, 16, Fig. 1, the elements being movable horizontally in parallel planes, the elements being suspended from a headrail and supported on a footrail 2 comprising a completely closed hollow box profile having outer and inner U-grooves, 10, 7 open at the bottom extending from the outer and inner edges 4, 5 of the footrail 2, the top face 6 of the footrail 2 being inclined downwardly towards the bath or shower. The outer and inner door elements 14, 16 have secured thereto rails 17, 18 which project upwardly into the U-grooves 10, 7 respectively, the middle door element 15 being supported by a spacer 19 mounted thereto that bears slidingly on the rails 17, 18. In the embodiment of Fig. 2, the middle door element 15 is supported by means of a groove 23 in its bottom on a rail 22 attached to the inner door element 16 and also by means of a rail 20 secured to the middle door element 15 engaging a groove 21 in the bottom of outer door element 14. In another embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown) the outer and middle door. elements 14, 15 are supported by rails (27), (28) secured by their bottoms engaging twin grooves (25), (26) located adjacent the outer edge of the footrail 2. In another embodiment, Fig. 4, 5 (not shown) rails (29), (30) secured to the bottoms of the outer and middle door elements 14, 15 both slide in a single U-groove adjacent the outer edge of the footrail 2.
