Abstract

145,559. Besson, M. M. E. May 1, 1916, [Convention date]. Floats for aerial machines.-In floats of the hydroplane type, the after part of the bottom aft of the break is so formed as to act as a cutwater. The cross-section is V-shaped, the angle between the surfaces being least about the centre of the after part and approaching 180 degrees at the break and the stern. The forward portion of the hull is also of V-shaped as shown, so that a bearing-surface is formed right up to the stem, at which place the surfaces merge into an horizontal line.
