Abstract

1453827 Snap-action switches TENBY ELECTRICAL ACCESSORIES Ltd 14 Nov 1973 [29 Nov 1972] 55110/72 Heading H1N An electric switch comprises a member 10 rockable about a pivot 11 and a finger lever 16 movable about a pivot 17 and having a projection 20 which rocks member 10 when lever 16 is moved, and spring means 19 (acting between pivot 17 and the end of a recess 18 in lever 16) urging lever 16 towards pivot 11 and permitting movement of lever 16 away from pivot 11 as lever 16 is moved angularly. One of a pair of stops 25 acts as a fulcrum for lever 16 so that finger pressure applied to lever 16 provides additional closing force at the contacts. Pivot 17 passes through an elongated opening in lever 16 to permit the movement of lever 16 away from pivot 11. The end of member 10 is bifurcated into two ends 14, one engaging the lower fixed contact 15 in the position shown and the other engaging the top fixed contact 15 when lever 16 is rocked. Instead of pivot 17 passing through an elongate hole in lever 16 it may pass through a circular hole and springs act between pivot 17 and the casing to permit the movement of lever 16 away from pivot 11.
