Abstract

1453322 Printing machines PITNEYBOWES Inc 25 Jan 1974 [26 Jan 1973] 03641/74 Heading B6C Apparatus for washing the blanket cylinder 10 of an offset press which comprises an elongate solvent reservoir 16, a scrub roller 44 having a solvent-absorbent surface supported so as to be partially immersed in the reservoir 16, means to enable the scrub roller to be brought into contact with the blanket, and to drive the scrub roller, an elongated wiper 122, means for positioning this wiper against the blanket, and a vacuum header 106 adjacent the wiper to remove solvent. The scrub roller is preferably driven in contra-rotation to the blanket cylinder. A squeegee roller may also be applied to the scrub roller.
