Abstract

1434025 Cleaning inking rollers N V TOOLS Ltd 8 Aug 1973 [1 Sept 1972] 40564/72 Heading B6C Ink train roller 12 is cleaned, e.g. when changing colour or to remove dried ink, by blade 1, which is brought into contact with the roller (by pneumatic cylinders 4) and reciprocated along the length of the roller. Ink solvent may be applied from a set of fixed rollers or from a nozzle travelling on blade carriage 7. Two or more reciprocating blades may be spaced along the length of a roller. The blade 1 may be skewed with respect to the axis of the roller, and the carriage may be reciprocated by magnetic force from a magnetic slug moved within support tube 8.
