Abstract

1337149 Imaging electrodes XEROX CORP 9 Nov 1970 [14 Nov 1969] 53135/70 Heading G2H An imaging electrode system for use in a photoelectrophoretic imaging apparatus comprises two rotatable imaging electrodes 16 and 29 mounted in tanks 26 and 30 respectively which are carried by a carriage 28. The carriage is movable in a horizontal direction by a cylinder 27 and the individual tanks are movable relative to each other in a vertical direction by cylinder 25 and 31 and associated eccentrics and the cylinders 25, 27 and 31 are so operated that the two imaging electrodes are moved successively into the same imaging zone. Electrode 16 has associated therewith an imaging suspension applicator brush 125, a smoothing rod 127, a shear roll 134, a knife edge 150 for scraping electrode 16 when it is not in the imaging zone and a squeegee blade 159 to remove unused suspension. Electrode 29 has associated therewith cleaning brushes 175 and 176, wiper blade 177 and a slot 185 from which carrier liquid is squirted on to the electrode surface.
