Abstract

1,247,132. Inking apparatus. ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLEICHER A.G. 2 April, 1970 [15 April, 1969], No. 15571/70. Heading B6C. A roller and blade ink duet is made selfcleaning by use of a grooved duct roller 1, co-operating with a duct blade 2. Preferably the duct roller 1 has one or more helical grooves 11, to receive any list, &c. present in the ink. The grooves may be cleaned by engagement of the duct roller 1 with an elastic-surfaced messenger roller 8, or by application of a cleaning tool shaped to conform to the cross-section of the grooves. The grooves may be rectangular or asymmetrically triangular in cross-section and may each make several turns about the roller 1.
