Abstract

1452621 Invertible ploughs V LEMKEN [trading as PFLUGFABRIK LEMKEN KG] 20 Nov 1973 [25 Nov 1972] 53730/73 Heading A1B A carriage 1 of an invertible plough is attached to a three-point linkage 2, 3 and carries a shank 4. A tube 5 which carries the plough frame 7 and plough shares 8 fits over the shank 4 and is supported by a selfaligning ball bearing 6 and by falling latches 10, 11 which retain the axis 15 of the tube 5 at an angle α above the axis 16 of the shank 4. A lever 19, 21 pivoted at 20 is connected via a rod 18 to the outside of the tube 5 and forms a locking device. The centre of gravity of the plough being above the axis 16, potential energy is available when the locking mechanism 18, 21 is released to invert the plough by rotation about the axis 16 through approximately 180 degrees. Lowering the three-point linkage restores the axis 15 to a position above the axis 16 where it is retained by latch 11 and locked by levers 18, 21.
