Abstract

1452575 Two-part couplings SOC ITALIANA TELECOMUNICAZIONI SIEMENS SpA 12 Sept 1974 [14 Sept 1973] 39768/74 Heading H2E A connector for connecting the outer conductor of a rigid cable 19 comprises a part 1 having a substantially frusto-conical bore with a thread F, and a threaded portion 10 into which can be screwed a part 2 having a threaded portion 13. The rigid coaxial cable is introduced into the bore in part 1 and the portion 11 of part 2 is then slid under the outer conductor of said cable and part 1 pulled over part 2. Finally, the first part is screwed on to the second so that the thread F cuts into said conductor causing it to be dragged into a cavity (21, Fig. 4, not shown), where it curls into a ring, so stopping the conductor from being pulled out. A flexible cable may be connected to "jacks" 25, 26 which screw into portion 18. Connection between the outer conductors is through the outer casing of the connector whilst connection between the inner conductors is via a pin in the "jacks".
