Abstract

1451150 Apparatus for filling boxes KOMBINAT NAGEMA VEB 28 Feb 1974 [12 March 1973] 9229/74 Heading B8C A device for filling a box K with liquid filled bags supplied in two rows comprises a gravity roller conveyer comprising two parts 2a, 2b which can be tilted by respective shafts 3, 4 extending parallel to the feed direction of the bags to tip the bags on to stationary angled guides 8, 9 and into the box K, and two support arms 10, 11 which are pivotable towards one another to close a bag discharge outlet defined by the guides 8, 9 while a full box K is replaced by a empty box. The bag supporting surfaces of the support arms 10, 11 comprise rollers. Feelers 5, 7 detect the presence of bags on the conveyer parts 2a, 2b and operate a switch to unlock an associated conveyer part 2a, 2b and permit tilting of the unlocked part 2a, 2b by a system of levers (14-17), Fig. 7 (not shown), operated by a cam (24). The tilting of the conveyer parts is sensed by switches (29, 30) which transmit pulses to a counter. After a predetermined number of pulses, a cam (34) which operates the support arms 10, 11 through a system of levers, is automatically coupled to the machine drive and the support arms 10, 11 moved to close the discharge opening. At the same time a box lock 13, associated with the discharge conveyer 12, is released.
