Abstract

1449990 Valves FORD MOTOR CO Ltd 25 Oct 1974 [16 Nov 1973] 46227/74 Heading F2V [Also in Division F1] A bimetallic disc 118 co-operates with an O- ring 116 to open or close an air flow path to a signal passage 108 which controls operation of a spray carburetter, see Division F1. Below approximately 65‹ F. the disc 118 is concave as viewed from the top and seals against the ring 116. Above 65‹ F. the disc is convex and the disc opening 120 communicates with the passage. 108. An opening 122 in the disc housing 124 is closed by a rubber valve 130 on movement of a lever 128 in response to full opening of the carburetter choke valve to close the air flow path.
