Abstract
1449269 Fluid-pressure operated actuators W BECK 22 Nov 1973 [24 Nov 1972] 54217/73 Heading F1D In a fluid-pressure operated actuator of the type in which a diaphragm 7, Fig. 1, is raised against the resistance of a spring 19, a pin 9 is not moved upwards until such time as the energy stored in a spring 11 is sufficient to overcome the restraint exercised by a permanent magnet 16 acting through stays 13 on a yoke 12. This ensures rapid movement of the pin. The holding power of the magnet may be varied by rotating the pin and the attached yoke 12 as indicated in Figs. 2 and 3, (not shown). Fig. 4 shows an embodiment in which an annular magnet 27 acts on a plate 29 attached to the diaphragm. Fig. 5, (not shown), illustrates a switch operated by the embodiment described with reference to Fig. 1
