Abstract

1,269,121. Electromagnetic switches. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 18 June, 1969 [27 June, 1968], No. 30941/69. Heading H1N. The electromagnetic actuator for a vacuum switch has its armature 21 spring biased out of engagement with a polepiece 34, 35 which it engages when an operating coil 30 is energized to assist a radially magnetized annular permanent magnet 27 which retains the armature in its attracted position when the coil 1 is deenergized. The armature is released for resetting by the spring 37 when a coil 28 is energized to produce flux in opposition to that of the permanent magnet 27. A ring 22 on the end of the armature extends around the end of an insulator 19 within which the end 18 of the movable contact rod 16 is located. Specification 1,256,385 is referred to in the Specification.
