Abstract

A hammer-drive actuator device comprising: a magnetic core structure forming a substantially closed path shaped to form two displaced pole pieces; a mobile magnetic member; an elastic printing hammer member fixed relative to said magnetic core structure at a point thereof and having a percussion surface at another point thereof; means for fixing said movable magnetic member to said printing hammer opposite said percussion surface thereof; a winding in said magnetic core structure; means for generating a magnetic flux in said magnetic core structure to attract said movable magnetic member to said pole pieces and to retain said actuator member in the prepared position; and means for selectively exciting said winding to release said movable magnetic member from said pole pieces so that said printing hammer member produces a printing cycle.
