Abstract

1449195 Mixing apparatus UNITED STATES ENERGY RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION 21 Nov 1973 [5 Dec 1972] 53962/73 Heading B1C [Also in Division El] An apparatus for injecting settable material into a hole in rock so that a portion of the material will be left protruding from the hole when the apparatus is removed from the entrance to the hole. Such an apparatus comprises a promoted resin supply 24, a catalysed resin supply 26, pumps P 1 , P 2 , a valve 34 controlling the supply of the resins from the pumps P 1 , P 2 , a mixer unit 54 connected to the outlet of the valve 36 and a delivery head 18, 86 that is connected to the mixer unit for delivery of the mixed resins to the hole when the head is positioned about the entrance to the hole. A well 62 in the head at the outlet of the head allows for the formation of the material to be left protruding from the hole. Roving material 92 and a venting tube 93 can be entered into the hole through the head 18, 86 by powered means 96, 98. A valve 74 in the head 18, 86 allows of purging of the head and the valve 34 of unwanted mixed resins after a hole has been filled, the purging resin being supplied by a pump P 3 . The roving material is wetted by fluid supplied by a pump P 4 .
