Abstract

1,153,122. Mixing and aerating apparatus. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 2 Dec., 1966 [3 Feb., 1966], No. 4803/66. Heading B1C [Also in Division E1] Apparatus for generating foam for filling a wall cavity comprises a foaming device 10 having supply lines 15, 17 respectively for premixed resin/foaming agent and air, the air inlet 17 being arranged to create a tubulent swirling mixing action. The main section of the device is filled with glass beads 12 retained by gauze 13. Acid hardening agent is introduced via line 18 and nozzle 19 into the direction of flow of the froth formed by the mixture of resin, foaming agent and air. A flexible outlet tube 21 is provided for delivering foam to its point of use. Flushing water may be supplied to the device through a line 20. The materials supplied through the lines 15, 18 and 20 are delivered from sealed containers under air pressure.
