If needle (4) is driven too strongly through the wall, for injecting liquid medicine into blood or liquid flowing through tube 2, the shield 3 prevents the needle piercing the operator. The metal shield may be fixed or detachably secured to the outer periphery of the rubber wall or embedded in it.
