Abstract

1448668 Forced-flow ovens HOTPOINT Ltd 30 Nov 1973 [5 Sept 1972] 41127/72 Heading F4W A cooking oven which is electrical resistance, microwave or gas heated and which may be self-cleaning comprises an impeller 6 within a space 13 separated by a plate 11 from a cooking space 12 and communicating therewith via a slot or slots 16 only, whereby operation of the impeller 6 produces oscillations of the air within space 13 to cause sympathetic oscillations of the air within the cooking space 12 and consequently an even temperature therein. In the form shown, resistance heating elements 17 are located above and/or below plate 11. The plate 11 may be disposed adjacent the top, bottom or any wall of the oven. The base 5 of the oven is in the form of an inverted truncated pyramid. In Fig. 4, not shown, plates (21) having slots (22) define the cooking space and co-operate with side walls 15 of the oven to define passages communicating with the space 13. Resilient mountings 9 are provided for the fan motor 8. The elements 17 may be energized with the impeller 6 inoperative.
