Abstract

1448207 Collapsible trolleys J E PEET 28 Aug 1973 [29 Aug 1972] 40015/72 Heading B7B A collapsible hand trolley has a wheeled frame comprising uprights 10, 12, hinged together at 14 for movement between an open operative and a closed inoperative condition, the uprights mounting trays 16, 18, 20 which move from a horizontal position to a position flat against the uprights on collapsing the trolley. U-frame limbs provide the uprights, uprights 12 pivotally mounting trays 16, 18, 20 at 22, 30, 32 respectively and each of uprights 10 carrying a slidable sleeve 38 the lower ends of which are joined by a cross member 37. Trays 16 are held horizontal by arms 24 pivoted to uprights 12 and releasably engageable with channels 28 on each tray. Trays 18 are pivoted to the sleeves 38, and trays 20 are hinged together at 31 where they rest on cross member 37. A stop 40 on uprights 10 holds trays 18 and 20 horizontal when the trolley is operative. Two wheels 42 are provided on the frame of uprights 10 and one wheel 44 is provided on each of those of uprights 12. Wheels 42 may be braked by a slidable member 48 in uprights 10 engaging a notched hub of the wheels (Fig. 3, not shown) and a braking foot 46 is provided to fix wheels 44 when the trolley is collapsed. Slidable member 48 may be manually actuated by a push-pull knob 50.
