Abstract

1447512 Axial-flow pumps TE C GROUP Inc 21 Aug 1973 [23 Jan 1973] 39372/73 Heading F1C A bladed fluid machine rotor rotatable in a supporting housing comprises a body having an open centre defined by a cylindrical inside wall surrounding a central axis of rotation, a number of segments each having a part-cylindrical shoe for detachable mounting on the inside wall and formed with an impeller blade projecting radially inwards towards the axis, selectively removable means establishing a disengageable driving connection between the shoes and the body, and releasable retaining means for retaining the first-mentioned means in fixed relation to the body. The pump shown in Fig. 1 comprises an impeller drum 12 journalled in bearings 22 and driven via a pinion 16 and a ring gear 18. Three impeller blades 44 are each carried by a part-cylindrical shoe 40 fitted into an annular recess 42, Fig. 2, driving keys 48 interposed between adjacent shoes being received in axial slots 50. Spring clips 54 engage notches 58 at the ends of the keys 48.
