Abstract

1447405 Decalcomanias J ALBRECHT GmbH & CO KG and F XAVER LEIPOLD KG 26 Sept 1973 45133/73 Heading B6C A method of producing a transfer for a decorative image comprises applying to a carrier material over an image thereon a fluid material capable of chemically setting to form a masking film, said fluid material comprising a polymerizable acrylate or methacrylate. In an example a design layer printed on a release layer on a temporary backing is coated on the design side with a thin layer of film comprising a, or a mixture of, monomer acrylates. The backing may be paper and the release layer a water soluble substance. The acrylates may be monobutyl, monoisobutyl and/or monomethyl methacrylates. After coating polymerization may be effected by electron or UV radiation.
