1445708 Up-and-over doors MARLEY BUILDINGS Ltd 22 Aug 1974 [29 Aug 1973] 40634/73 Heading E2M In a counter balance for an up-and-over door, a lever arm 4 is adapted at one end for connection by a bracket 5 to a door 1 and the lever arm 4 is pivotally connected to a support plate 8 fixedly mounted on a plate 11 connected to a door jamb 9 and the other end of the lever arm 4 is connected to a tension spring 6 by a link 7 which is pivotable about a pivot 7' such that the lever arm 4 and the link 7 have interacting stop surfaces 4a, 7a positioned such that during initial movement of the lever arm the spring 6 is extended and during subsequent movement of the lever arm 4 the link 7 pivots and becomes fixed relative to the lever arm (position 2d).
