Abstract

1440356 Up-and-over door operating mechanism; doors TUBAUTO 19 Oct 1973 [20 Oct 1972] 48941/73 Headings E1J and E2M In an up-and-over door operating mechanism, the door panel 2 is supported by two laterally-spaced levers 5 each articulated, at one end, to a fixed point 6 located at the top of the door opening 1 and located at the other end to a cranked fitting 8 secured substantially to the centre of each side portion of the door panel which is guided by means of rollers 3 sliding in guide members 17 arranged vertically on either side of the opening. The door panel 2 is balanced by means of two springs 9 each located, at one end of each spring, to a fixed point 10 located towards the inside of the building and, at the other end of each spring, to a rod 13 pivoted at 14 to the fitting 8. When the door approaches its closed position (Fig. 3) the rod 13 is supported against a stop member fixed to the door panel in such a manner that, in the completely closed position of the door panel the median line of the spring forms a small angle with the median line of the rod whilst maintaining the door panel in the closed position whilst ensuring a progressive reduction of the rate of angular movement of the panel towards the closed position.
