Ovens; baffles and heat-distributors.-A vertical stove-pipe 2 is in communication with a casing 8 which contains the ovens 3, a series of semicircular sectioned deflectors 9 occupying the space between the oven bottom and the casing 8. These deflectors engage with and radiate from the outlet of the stove pipe 2 to the sides of the outer casing and are open at the outer ends to allow heated gases, rising through the stove pipe 2, to be distributed over the oven bottom and rise at the sides of the ovens until arrested by horizontal deflectors 11 arranged between the ovens and the casing at the sides and back thereof. Gaps 13 are left between the deflectors 11 through which the gases issue and escape over the top of the oven to the upper stove pipe 2. A by-pass pipe 20 containing a damper is provided so that the heating gases can be passed to the atmosphere without entering the casing 8. Means are provided for withdrawing the deflectors 9 as a unit through a door in the bottom of the oven casing.
