Abstract
1445186 Inductors HOME AUTOMATION Ltd 5 Dec 1974 [6 Dec 1973] 56664/73 Heading HIT [Also in Division H2] A choke comprises a winding wound around a core composed of ferrite and iron particles. The ferrite rod 12 which may be made from three oxides, fits simply within the iron dust tube 11 which has iron particles of 10 Ám. or less. The dimensions of the core are typically 1¥ inch long and ¢ inch diameter, the ferrite rod being <SP>5</SP>/ 16 inch diameter. The winding 10 may be three layers of 28 SWG enamelled wire, surrounded by a sleeve or casing 13. In modifications, the core may be a ferrite tube surrounding an iron dust rod, or there may be two rods in parallel composed of iron dust and ferrite respectively. Typically values of circuit components for a dimmer control are given.
