Abstract

Ploughs.-The furrow wheel b and the land wheel c of a tractor plough are mounted on ball-crank levers e c<1>, f f<1> respectively, the other ends of these levers being connected by a rod g of which the effective length may be varied by screwing through a nut g<2> on the end of the lever arm f<1>, thus adjusting the relative position of the wheels. The machine frame is raised or lowered by operating a handlever h<1> with a bell-crank arm h<2> connected by an adjustable link h<3> to an arm on the shaft of the bell-crank lever e e<1>. A spring i assists the movement of the lever in lifting the frame. The arm f is longer than the arm c to give a greater relative movement to the furrow wheel. The rear of the frame is supported by a vertically adjustable castor wheel d which may have its stem provided with a pulley over which a chain passes, one end of the chain being connected to the rear part of the frame and the other to the arm f<1> so that the rear part of the frame is raised and lowered simultaneously with the front end.
