Abstract
144,462. Clyde Valley Shipwelders, Ltd., and Carlton, J. May 30, 1919. Blowpipe burners.-The nozzle of a blowpipe burner comprises a hollow casing 1 containing a tapered plug 2 removably seated therein, the surface of the plug being grooved to form a number of jet channels 5 while one or more additional passages 8 extend centrally through the plug. The end 9 of the plug is screwed into the head 12 and a nut 15 secures the casing to the head. Oxygen is admitted through the passage 14 and a mixture of oxygen and acetylene' through the passage 13. The plug portion is interchangeable with others having different sized grooves 'which may be made in a spiral manner. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 110,171.
