Abstract

1444248 Valves STEWART RESEARCH Inc 8 Dec 1973 58639/73 Heading F2V [Also in Division A5] A sphygmomanometer has a resilient rubber sleeve 46 held in an axial bore 36 to prevent flow into a transverse bore 38 and which is compressible to release pressure from the cuff through the bore 38 when a plunger 54 is depressed against the loading of leaf-spring 68 by a cam surface 66 on a thumb-operated lever 60 co-operating with the plunger head 56. The valve is locked in open position when the centre part 67 of the cam 66 passes over the top dead centre of the head surface 58.
